Egging in the snow storm

We are supposed to get 4-10 inches tonight. Snowing hard while I was egging. But that didn't stop me! I'll dig out tomorrow and do 2 more cooks.
Tonight, burgers, potatos and asparagus.
Potatoes with some bacon fat in CI with some salt and pepper. Asparagus up top with olive oil and cow lick. Then a simple cheeseburger.
Went good. Asparagus Was a fail though. First time egging or grilling them. What do the pros on the forum do?

That looks awesome and my favorite weather to cook in. The weather guy here said we would have 5 inches on the ground here if it hadn't been 65 degrees 48 hours ago.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

No, I had to look up what that meant. More like very uneven pieces with small overdone and large not done. So I pulled them. The big ones were a little under, but not too bad. We picker out the more even cooked ones to eat.
I need to get a better raised setup. Rushed cooked since the little ones were getting rowdy. I also need more practice cooking multiple things at the same time on one egg. It's tricky! -

Looks from here like a few thing wrong with your asparagus.
Cut off more of the woody end, bet it was stringy and annoying.
Par cook or braise in pan, then wrap in bacon, and finish on egg.
or wrap in bacon, cook slowly on egg until bacon crispy.Better luck next time

I usually leave the woody end and just don't eat it. Does that change how it cooks?
Thanks for the tips! I will try that next time. Straight egg grilled at high heats didn't work out too well.

@butert central Iowa. It rained all day, turned to snow around 5. It was supposed to switch later at night. They are saying 10 now. Snowing all night.
Probably 3 or 4 out there now. -
IMHO no need to par cook the asparagus. I would however cut off the woody ends. Just take one and bend it til it breaks, and that is where you cut them all. You will feel wasteful, but the woody stuff is vile and indigestible Don't get me wrong, your cook looks great. We are all nit pickers here, of ourselves and sometimes others.

Bundle them up. And move them around. Keep bigger spears on the outside. They cook fast. I eat them raw when I had my bed going.

I never eat the woody end. Just figured they would be easier to handle. When I pressure cook or steam them I cut it off.
I think the main problem is while I was taking everything else inside the heat soared (from being open). After 2 minutes when I got back outside it was at 600!
@butert There is a lot of wet heavy snow. 6-8 by my guess, still snowing. The poor mini max is buried. Some of the trees are losing branches.

Nice cook Why ido some times with the aspergus is cut the ends off then wrap them in foil with garlic and s&p cook them that wayTrenton ON 1 mbge for now

I toss them in OO and grill them direct. Dome temp is around 350. Season w kosher salt and pepper, maybe grate a little Parmesan on topChicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle
