Today is Mrs 3969 birthday and one of her favorite meals is Chicken Pad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice for desert.
I was a little apprehensive about this cook because the restaurant that we go to get this is totally awesome. I've never had a bad thing there. Anyway she didn't want to go out so it decided to bring it to her.
Marinated Chicken getting all happy in the wok
And a first time cooking Tofu for me. I did the eggs next but they went too fast for a pic. Then added the bean sprouts for a bit with the Thai sauce and then the noodles. First time for Wokking noodles for me as well. Really good I might add Everything back in for a good coating of the sauce And plated with rice Next up was Mango Sticky Rice for dessert My first time eating this and surely won't be the last.
After it was all said and done I got the 2 thumbs up on this from my wife, hell I have it a 2 thumbs up!!! This was an really good meal.

Awesome, what do you use to make the rice that nice shape, my favorite filipino restaurants serve the rice the same shape, is it a special serving spoon? Or is it as simple as a small bowl? Inquiring minds.

Just a glass bowl I use to mix my spices in. Just pack it tight and flip it over on the plate.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

@caliking - make 1 1/2 - 2 cup is sweet rice. For the rice I a short grain, high gluten when the rice is almost done you need to heat about cup of coconut milk (don't boil, it will curl) and mix in 2tbs of sugar and a pinch of salt and let it come together till sugar is melted. Put the rice in a bowl and pour milk over and let it sit for about 5 mins. Then eat it up.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Nice looking pad thai.Coconut adds a great flavor to rice. Here is one I make sometimes.Rice, Coconut, Spicy, Richard Fl.Coconut adds a wonderful flavor to this spicy red chile flavored rice.INGREDIENTS:2 Tbs Thai Hot Sauce1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut2 Tbs Butter or margarine1 Tbs Curry Powder1/2 Tbs Chutney Powder1/3 Cup Thai Coconut Curry Cashews, Chopped1/2 Cup Golden Raisins6 Ozs Coconut Milk2 Tbs Garlic Chives, Cut fine1/2 Cup Onion, chopped fine2 Cups Jasmine Rice1 cup coconut water (from the coconut–optional)2 cup chicken broth1 1/2 Cups Water or more chicken brothPROCEDURE:1. Saute the hot sauce and coconut in the butter in a sauce pan for a couple of minutes or until the coconut starts to brown. Add the onion and saute until the onion is soft. Combine the coconut water with the broth and all the other seasonings.2. After about 15 minutes on low heat to allow the coconut and raisins to absorb the liquid and get plump, place the 2 cups rice into a rice cooker and add the liquids.Yield: Serves 4 to 6Recipe Type: Asian, Pasta/Rice, Side DishSourceSource: BGE Forum, Richard Fl, 2012/04/28**
