My wife wants a spice grinder and I have no idea what is a good brand, what not to get, or anything about them. She wants to take her dehydrated spices or whole spices she buys and grind them. Please send me the brands that are working for you. Thank you.

I use a coffee grinder that is dedicated only for spices.KelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. BGEs: XL, Medium, 1 MiniMax. 36" CookRite Commercial Griddle, and a Shirley Smoker.

If you don't have a good blender the Blendtec with the Twister jar is excellent. I was going to buy an Indian grinder but got the twist jar and it works amazingly well.

I use a mortar and pestle but any cheap coffee grinder will work. The $20 Krups grinder is popular. Cuisinart makes a spice & nut grinder that has a dishwasher-safe blade and grinding cup, but it's $35. For the all0in-one units, just grind some rice to remove incompatible spice residue for your next batch.

Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I have a Proctor Silex E160B, A Cuisanart DCG 20N and a Krups. All dedicated to spices, My most used is the Krups. When you need to clean it run some rice uncooked thru it.

Any blade style coffee grinder will work well. I would get one with a stainless interior.Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
I use a Hario for both spices and small batches of coffee. Very high quality ceramic burr grinder.

Mine is a Cuisinart that has never seen a coffee bean.
It grinds spices and dried spaghetti sauce.
