My New Table

Finally got around to building my BGE table over the christmas break (I bought the wood in August!!).

I really wanted the table to have a clean look, so I recessed the cross supports into the 4x4 posts and made all of the fasteners hidden. The table is made from 100% cedar. I will most likely make a door for the cabinet sometime in the spring.

It is very clean looking ... like the 18 wheeler look with the 6 caster rollers. Looks like you have it set up for three shelves in the open area ... yes? Do monitor the temperature of the wood under the egg. Good job.

Well done. Anyone would be proud to have a table like that.

Maybe something to deflect the heat away from the wood under the table nest.

I'm a real fan of hidden-fastener construction. Furniture pieces always look cleaner. Let's face it, a BGE table is a piece of furnIture. Hiding the fasteners can be a chore while making sure the internal bracing is there to support the load, but looks like you were up to the task. Eggcellente, mi amigo!.

Thanks for the positvie comments.

The nest gives about a 2" gap between the egg and table, but I am planning to put a matching piece of 16"x16" granite under the nest.

Your right, load was a big concern when coming up with the design. Guess that engineering degree is coming in handy!
