I rarely cook these days and my friend and his wife have been feigning.  With the weekend drives to Katy and the work getting the house set-up and completing "makes me happy" projects, I haven't been up to cooking during the week in San Antonio.  He wanted pulled pork, so I woke up at 5am and made it happen.

I am not the only one making their own drip pans, right?  So easy and they work so well.

image

I dialed in the egg and tossed it on at 6:30am.  The outside plug didn't work, so my plan to use the stoker was out.  When I called at 11am to check on the temp, his wifey said it was at 350, so I had her close the bottom vent by half.  Had my buddy make a few adjustments in the afternoon, and I pulled it at 6pm.  Not my best, but it was pretty good.    :)

You know me, I had to grill some sausage...pork on pork, OH YEAH BABY!    :@)

Pulled pork sammy, topped with vinegar slaw, hatch pork sausage and a lil Franklin Barbecue Sweet Vinegar Sauce.   :D

I took some advice from Cen and tried out Oak Ridge Comp Beef and Pork.  It was very good...nice balance and a smidge of sweet, which my sweet tooth loved.  At the end of the day though, my homebrew pork rub is still my favorite by a long shot.  Great eats none the less.

This is one of the projects I finished up last weekend that I'm very geeked up about.   :-B

Man I make my own drip pans out of foil for everything except incredibly large quantities of meat.  That looks awesome! Nicely done as always @cazzy

Looks like a winner to me. Judging by the size of the sandwich, was you expecting me to drop by?

It's basically my home network and NAS (Network Area Storage).  Modem, router, switch and patch panel.  The NAS is a Drobo and is essentially 10tb of storage (after redundancy) that anyone has access to on my network.

Thanks for the compliments!  It's not a bad device.  The Synology Play is prolly what i'd go with if I did it all over again.

I had  a feeling you would say something like that.  Sadly, I couldn't finish it, but it did make for a great photo.

That sandwich really impressed me. Both the quality and the quantity.

+1 Rep on the 5 bay Drobo.  I've been eying those for years and never found the $$$ to invest in one.

This is bad... avid smokehound AND Tech Junkie?  I dont know what I am more impressed by, the swine or the LAN.

19 drops.  My router is punched to port 1 on the patch panel, which enabled me to make it a lil cleaner.

@cazzy nice network setup. Very clean. I just ordered a synology 415+ yesterday. Should be here by the end of the week. Paired with two WD red 3 Tb drives to start.

I could hear the theme from Jaws as the pics zoomed in tighter each time. That's a man-wich fo sho.

Oakridge rubs are really good stuff. I've been wanting to try their Crucible rub made with ghost peppers.

Oh, and when you finally make the move to Katyzuela, I've got a home network project for you :)

LOL.  It was!  I like their stuff....great quality.  Oh my, the Habanero Death Dust can kick your ass.  I think the Crucible would hit me in the nuts.  I LOVE heat...but ghost is one thing I try to avoid.

I have 8/2 for 35 bucks a month with my own modem. The best I can get is 30/5 for 60. So you are getting a good deal. Who's you isp?

Death Dust rocks on wings. I use it on the bone side of ribs sometimes so it hits the tongue first when you bite.

And I've already got a guy for the lawn but thanks for offering. A techie is what I need! Heck... I'll even let you show me how to smoke a brisky :)
