I agree. I have never made my own, but I use Dizzy Pig's Red Eye Express, and it does wonders to steak.Louisville, GA - 2 Large BGE's

Coffee rub sounds great, I'll experiment on a sirloin before applying to the tastier cuts.

Can I just use a coffee grinder and make sure I run it until it's very fine?
I assume if it's non-flavored beans and good for brewing it would work for the rub.

I use a coffee grinder to mix all ingredients. It turns almost into a powder. I just used what ever coffee the wife had.

Just made my own for the first time. I scaled down the batch from the numbers above and used home ground beans.
Right now its looking good on the chicken!Seattle, WA -
I tried it but I didn't care for it. I usually just mix my own rub for a butt and just use salt and pepper on brisket.Suwanee Georgia - suburb north of Atlanta

I enjoy the aroma of a good coffee rub, tried it on a variety of cooks ... didn't really care for it. Weird huh?I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

Believer after tonight, I didn't follow measurements above exact but scaled down to table spoon in similar ratios with a bit extra brown sugar.
