OT: left over pizza...a tradition for us

Some of you may not understand this thread, but with just my wife and I we can only eat one half of my made from scratch pizzas. I like to call the remainder a "make ahead" meal rather than "left overs". This actually has another benefit leading up to major cooks such as Thanksgiving eve, Christmas eve. Easter eve...you get my point? Rather than to mess with making a meal the night before I warm up the "make ahead" pizza. This works for us! See the red and green in this picture? LOL?

My wife and I do the same thing. We usually make small 10 to 12" pizzas. Especially during the college football season Pizza night was Saturday and Sunday was "make ahead pizza" and salad. worked well for us, as well.

Hot pizza and cold beer is lunch, dinner, after dinner party, etc.

Cold pizza and room temp flat beer is breakfast.

Our family considers cold pizza a breakfast food.

no, just keep them in the refrig and the trick I learned here is to place the cold pizza on a cold pizza pan with holes in it. Put that in the cold oven, hit preheat to say 400 and by the time our oven hits 400 in 16 minutes the pizza is perfect! That way it doesn't get burnt, dried out or moist like when reheated in a microwave. Works for us!

    Hi Ron,

i don't know how much room you have in your kitchen, but firing up a full-blown oven to re-heat pizza seems like a lot of electricity for a re-heat job.  toaster ovens are fairly inexpensive and it is what the missus and myself use for re-heating cold pizza, cold french fries, or anything else that the microwave doesn't do justice to when re-heating.  We even use ours to make garlic bread or sometimes cook up just a couple of frozen fish fillets.  Just a friendly suggestion you might want to consider.

I was wondering the same thing..Hell toss the box and left over pie in a cold oven overnight to ensure it is fresh as a daisy and continues to marinate. "FROM MY BATCHELOR.DAYS" LOL
