He is a straight up person.  Met him last year at the Texas Eggfest.  Hope he makes again for 2015.

He is about as down to earth as they come. He reminds me a lot of myself ;)

@tarheelmatt ... yep, you were right yesterday when you said; "I would expect a southerner to lay it on thicker than the northerners."

Listen brother. The Indians around here call me "He who is humble" ;)

@blind99‌ Appreciate that. I'm trying a few things. Once I'm comfortable with the results I'll shoot a new video. Thanks again.

@SGH‌, before you make your YouTube debut, you should design and patent a BBQ gadget of some sort. Shoot your videos with your biggest Afro wig and you'll surely find yourself at the top of the BBQ world. You'll have everyone sporting an afro much like how the duck dynasty guys brought out the beards. :D

I've not yet been able to get to Austin to try Aaron Franklin's brisket yet, but have seen his videos and they are helpful, but I prefer a local guy here in the KC area that has worked well for me. Chris Marks of Three Little Pigs BBQ. My briskets come out tender and juice every time so far. I also like using cherry wood instead of oak and more seasonings then s&p. That's my IMHO though. I have had some brisket lately in different places in my area where all I can taste is the oak wood flavor and it overpowered the meat and the rub. Here is Chris preparing a brisket and this how I do it now. I'm looking forward it getting back to egging soon again. BBQ BootCamp w/ Chris Marks: Prepping the Brisket: http://youtu.be/J3sgbX9Nxgs

  • Have been to Franklin's many times. Best brisket in these parts. Snow's is a close second.
