I'm so Eggcited !!!!!!!!!!!!

Options
I think everyone here knows how I feel today. I think everyone here understands how eggcited I am.

I have waited all year to cook a spatchcock turkey and to use Mickey's Coffee Rub in a cook.

Today is the day.I am eggcited !!!!!!!!!!!!

A big ole turkey presented on this Thanksgiving Day is the ultimate cook in my opinion.  Presenting a Spatchcock Turkey with Mickey's Coffee Rub will be the climax of my 1st year of cooking on my Big Green Egg.

Thanks for everyone on this forum for all you have contributed to the joy in my life....seriously.....only folks here know how happy it makes us when people enjoy a meal prepared on a Big Green Egg.

Pictures coming......

It is Eggciting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donnie I have an 18pounder going on at 10:00 (as opposed to the 12 lbs I always cook) and it is spatchcocked with coffee rub. See you at the table.

Jeremiah  Avatar ?...what avatar ? ....I worked hard getting that background just right for my self portrait.

I bought my wife a Nikon 5200D for Christmas last year and I only made one pic with it....I was really proud of my photography work.

    Thanks for the compliment though......

    PS...

I got the idea from Mr. " How I Boil my Brisket " !!!!

Donnie, if it tastes that bad, don't eat it!!!

    Looks fantastic!

Don't ever try mixing up MCR after you've been drinking though. Comes out all screwed up. Don't ask how I know.

Even the "traditional" folks came back for 2nds and 3rds....it turned out perfect.

Just press with a fork and juice runs out of the breast meat...how many oven-cooked turkeys do that...none that I've ever had !!!!!     The Mickey's Coffee Rub (MCR)...double A, capitol A,   AAwesome !!!

Now I can't wait for the MCR Ribeyes !!!

I have to be honest....I was a little skeered that the coffee flavor would be too strong....but it was Eggcellent..I love this stuff.

I ran my hand between skin and meat to tear it loose, then added MCR inside. Man....I love this stuff.

Did I mention that I love this stuff ???????

Brother first let me say Happy Thanksgiving. Next, the grub looks awesome my friend. I have yet to try MCR. After all I have heard about it I need to just go ahead and try it. I hate coffee so it's been hard for me to make myself try it. Again great looking bird and hope that you enjoy the Holidays.

    Thanks everyone...it was a fun cook !!!

SGH ..I wanted to do the MCR ever since I first heard of it. I was also a little reluctant due to not knowing about 'coffee flavored food'.

I am, again...eggcited, now for my next opportunity...it was delicious...I really did like it a LOT.

I see MCR ribeyes in my near future.

I'm beginning to who all I've told now...but Happy holidays to you and your family as well !!

Nailed it dude. Only suggestion I have is there's no reason to wait for Thanksgiving, or any other holiday, to cook a turkey. Next time they're on sale get one and cook it. They're great tasting at any time of the year...
