Better than the first time, still too much bread. Going to barber poll a thin strip next time. Ha, still tasty just didn't eat all the bread.

Topped with pizza sauce. Tried pie pastry, and was too crumbly.

@ Doc_Eggerton Looks very good !!! I found a recipe that sounds similar that I intend to try with some deer sausage. Is the Publix dough a crescant or some other type of dough ??Making me huuunnggrrry !!!

Looks good, Doc. Keep trying and you'll get the right amount of dough down. I used to do something similar with crescent rolls, just cooked the Italian Sausage first, cooled and then rolled up and cooked.

It is some type of bread dough, but not flakey. It is tasty, I think I just need to cut a thinner strip and barber pole it around the sausage.
