Alright - excited to share my HeaterMeter build! After hours and hours of soldering, it's finally done. And it works! I still need to calibrate it, but it's done in time for Turkey Day which was the plan. First run will be this weekend - and my 3d printed case should be done by then too!
I know I've seen a few HeaterMeter guys around so I'm happy to join your ranks!

@thegooddocta where did you have the 3d printing done? I have a buddy that built one of these and he's debating between a printed case or having one CNC'd from a friend of ours.Large BGE & mini stepchild & a KJ Jr.The damp PNW

@BizGreenEgg - I've had a few things printed through 3d Hubs - people offer up their 3d printers for others to use on there - peer to peer 3d printing - so I did the same with this one - I grabbed the files from the weber forumMike - (1)LBGE, HeaterMeter v4.2.4

@yogi84 - will check that out! Do you have that? Would love to see a photo of your setup... Still figuring out exactly how I'll attach it. My 3d printed case ordered from 3d hubs comes in the mail at the end of the week.Mike - (1)LBGE, HeaterMeter v4.2.4

I'm going to pimp myself here...
iPhone users, check out my HeaterMeter app in the app store. It's called Pit Meter. It even has a BGE background theme you can choose -
This is really cool, I used to have the techie bug and loved building rf stuff and talking on ham and sideband radios, I built a million Ramsey kits too. This looks awesome.

I love mine. +1 on the roto damper too. Once you get your PID settings set you'll be in business. Enjoy and congrats on the build!LBGE; Adjustable Rig

Very cool!If I did one, I'd overdo my plans, start designing one with multiple pit controls, 6 temp monitors, and an SNMP interface to monitor everything. Oh, and I would never even get past the order the parts stage.Squirrel....Yes, I do have ADHD and I embrace.....oohh shiny....They/Them

Ok, I guess I am the lone head scratcher.....what is it?

@Crimsongator - It's a BBQ controller (like the DigiQ). You just have to build it yourself from open source hardware plans and software... It's a lot of fun!
