Mayo on Thanksgiving Turkey before smoking?

With the recent discussions regarding mayo on ribs, to the people that have tried this on turkey can you comment on outcome? Did it change the taste of the meat? Was the meat more moist? Any other thoughts on this?

I would be a little concerned about what it would do to the skin. Butter is common on the skin, but it is mostly water and cooks off. I think the oil in the mayo might give you some rubbery skin.Perhaps experiment with putting some on turkey thighs or legs?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I saw that on Pinterest and was wondering the same thing. MDSH cooks the TDAY bird and I'm sure he could not be persuaded to use mayo. I can say it's great on ribs. ;;)Every day is a bonus day and every meal is a banquet in Winter Springs, Fl !
