So thinking of doing a Mad Max turkey this year on the egg for the family. Anyone use a disposable roasting pan? Also what size pan would fit a large egg?

An oval disposable pan will fit even if you have to bend it a bit. I would use two to make it easier to get the drippings off.

@Little Steve, so two pans, got it. I saw that you had a stuffing recipe? I clicked the link but it sent me back to the main page, mind sending that my way?
-
How do you raise it off the floor of the disposable pan?
-
I just use some copper tees. The search function on the old forum seems to be broken. I'll send it to you when I find it. I'm sure I put it up here a few years ago but no luck finding it yet.

Use a rib rack to lift the bird off the pan. T s keep the pan off the PSfletcherfam said:How do you raise it off the floor of the disposable pan?

Stupid question, copper tees underneath the bird between the bird and the pan? I have the egg feet to raise the roasting pan off the platesetter.
-
No under the pan. Feet will work if you have enough of them. I usually put the bird on a rack from an oval roaster that won't fit on the egg to keep the bottom from braising in the butter and wine.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,I don't know if I still have the pics but if I do I'll do another post. If I don't I'll write it up. Should have taken more pics on our Thanksgiving last month.

Cut some onions, carrots, and celery thick to get it off the pan bottom. These cook down with the drippings and the resulting solution is awesome in gravy. I do this every year.
You can also get a small oval rack that is made for going in the pan for a few bucks.
