Super Sized Whole Brisket

Smoked Signals

I saw a whole packer at Wally World the other day that stopped me in my tracks .. it weighed 18.9lbs ... it was a man among boys. That steer must have been a monster. I almost bought it just to see if it would really take 39-40 hours to cook. Anyone ever cook something this big on your egg? Only Wicked Good would make the required timeframe without a charcoal reload. I'm not even sure it would fit on the grate. I think a Clod is about this weight but I have never found one in our Southern Indiana Commercial meat world. [p]What is the biggest single piece of meat you've ever cooked?[p][p]

Smoked Signals,[p]Man, where is that troll with the trailer cooker now that we need him?

Smoked Signals,[p]On the Egg, it would be a brisket around 15 pounds, it was too long to fit! Had to put my V-Rack in and drape Mr. Brisket over it so it until it shrunk-up.[p]~thirdeye~

Smoked Signals,
i did 32 hours with royal oak once, and on the left over lump cooked a chicken at 350 for an hour, plus a steak at 650/700.[p]that stuff lasts (and is basically 'wicked good', if i'm not mistaken...)

Smoked Signals, thirdeye has me beat, the biggest I've done was 14.65lbs. I had to really scrunch it up to get it to fit.

Grillicious, [p]I said around 15 pounds For the record, I will yield to your accuracy with the two decimal points. Hehe.[p]~thirdeye~

Smoked Signals, if you split it at the natural seam it'll fit using an extended grid.

Smoked Signals,[p]I cooked a 22.5 pound fresh ham once on my medium. Had to saw the shank to get it to fit into the egg but it worked. Didnt smoke it, cooked it indirect about 325 or so. Turned out great.[p]Troy
