iPhone 6+ arrives tomorrow and I throw my SRF Gold brisket on the Egg. The marbling is impressive to say the least and I can actually make imprints in the fat with just a slight touch of my fingers....this is going to be good. Stay tuned.

I'm an Apple guy and will probably get the six (gonna wait a month or two) but I'm most interested in the brisket. Tuned in waiting on pics.

I take no credit at all but that was the best brisket I have ever had. I just got out of the way and let the SRF Gold shine. Nothing but S&P, post oak, and Egg. No injection, no burnt ends...nothing. Fabulous. The only part that was disappointing just a tad was out of the bag the brisket had a couple of brownish/gray parts....nothing to worry about but it is like a big pimple on "name your hot chick" in a bikini. Hard to complain. Pics. So happy to hear you did less than you did with your first SRF. A piece of meat like that doesn't need any aid.Looks great!!!Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

Good memory @cazzy I'll do burnt ends again as my sons were begging for them but no injections and no fancy seasonings for my brsikets going forward....even on the lower quality ones.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Sometimes it's a curse, but it's near photographic (i.e. I can't forget things I'd love to...like henapple covered in bacon).4Runner said:Good memory @cazzy I'll do burnt ends again as my sons were begging for them but no injections and no fancy seasonings for my brsikets going forward....even on the lower quality ones.
There is always Texas Burnt Ends. On the end cuts of the point, you can cut some off of there and serve immediately. It's the only burnt end I will serve and they're fabulous.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -

Thanks. In the picture I had already separated the point. It looked like a dang meteor. We ate a ton (twin 14 yearold boys), gave some to my sister-in-law and my father-in-law and finally, threw the balance in a bag and vacuum sealed it. I'm just amazed at the difference compared to my local choice brisket. I'm spoiled. Ps - no one mentioned the cornbread. Wow! My wife and went to Husk in Charleston, SC and I followed Sean Brock's recipe including using Benton's bacon. Outstanding and available on the web. Highly recommend it to all cornbread fans. http://www.huskrestaurant.com/home/Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Most eggcellent! Glad it was a home-run with the SRF.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Looks fantastic, and I did notice the cornbread. I'm a huge cornbread fan. Thanks for sharing.LBGE, Marietta, GA
