5 pound butt - or why I love the Egg

Been forever since I lit any lump. Didn't have much time today to prep or do anything fancy, but I managed to get a 5 lb butt done for the Vols game tonight.
Today really crystallized what I love about the Egg. I did not have time to baby this cook, from prep to fire it could not have been any simpler. But the Egg does not care if you are attempting a highly technical cook, it just performs, baby.
Rubbed the butt with mustard and threw together a rub because I was out of Dizzy Dust. Normally I do this the night before but could not pull that off last night.
Ran at 300 because that is where she settled in, with apple and hickory chips. Basted with Lexington dip every now and then. Pulled at 190 and currently FTC until dinner.
Will post pulled and plated pics later.

Just burnin lump in Sumpter -
I have to agree. The BGE is pretty simple after you learn to control the temperature.
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.
