That's it i need a Joe jr. In red that can be my red headed stepchild.

Wait I'm going to sell all 10 of them that will teach them....yeah that's what I will do

So I read you post to SHMBO and she said, "you need to stop talking to this guy! He's a bad influence!" I didn't even tell her your handle was @badinfluence‌ !! She also wants me to sell my small GE (now that I got the Jr).

She also called you an "egg hoarder". (But, you'll always be my hero!)

Large BGE, Small BGE, KJ Jr, and a Cracked Vision Kub.

@badinfluence my XL will be the next to go. The stand alone big Joe is so much nicer than the egg.

For some reason I can't sign in on my work computer anymore but google big Joe XL green egg and look at the picture of them side by side. The big Joe makes the XL look small. That big Joe in the pic is the standard one imagine that but the stand alone has all stainless hardware including an all stainless band and handle It looks so much better. Oh yeah then there's the accessories that just puts it that much further over the top. It will be mine.

I have to be honest I have know clue where a Joe dealer is in my area so go green for me as I have a dealer 5 blocks from my house.

@lit and I'm sure the customer service is much better also. That being said if you have a Joe dealer 5 blocks from your house it might be.

@crimsongator, I did call MS (see original post of this thread), and that's exactly what I was told.

The delay is caused by the "pack all in one box" issue.

    First of November, HOPEFULLY.

Thanks, John for adding yet another confirmation to what others have posted here over the past few months. Why my making a general reference to those posts makes Gene fly in to a hyper-defensive mode makes no sense, other than he hates me with a such passion!

@badinfluence‌ I'm in Georgia so both are everywhere. I pass 2 egg dealers and 2 KJ dealer on my way to work every day and I only go like 10 miles. Also when stainless rusts you just hit it with wet sandpaper when the egg band rusts you live with it or pay $100 for a band.

@lit I have noticed with the stainless bands for mu fuel tanks water gets under them and rusts upward to the top till they break. Now granted I would bet you are not going to be subjecting the band's to the same abuse that I do and it don't happen often. Heck only broke 1 out of 6 on this truck and only have 1009000 on it so far

I missed the standalone part. That does look nice. I suppose you trade side tables and the cart for the SS since they are priced the same. If Costco ever carries one, I may consider it.

In working with the BGE warranty group I asked when the MiniMax would ship....thinking they guy would be a bit "loose with the tongue"......no avail. Got the standard corp line of, "shipping soon". Bastages.

As long as we are a bit OT already...@Lit do you think the KJ Jr heat deflector would work in a small egg?  I haven't seen how much they are but their accessories seem reasonable.  Might pick one up for my small if the price is right and I can find it at an Ace Hardware or something.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

funny that the rusting band issue came up, my large is 9 months old and lives on a covered patio and I noticed my bands rusting is a few areas..just unacceptable. Wonder if they are warrantied.

This is from the BGE warranty page

    3. METAL COMPONENTS: Metal, Stainless Steel and Cast Iron components of the EGG (including the metal bands, hinge mechanism, dual function metal top, cooking grid, fire grate and draft door) carry a Limited Five (5) Year Warranty to the original purchaser.

Pretty sure the limited part of the warranty says it doesn't include rust but its worth a shot.

@SmokeyPitt‌ I will check and let you know.

    Further down it says this

The Big Green Egg makes every effort to utilize materials that resist rust and to use high temperature coatings on metal surfaces. However, metal materials and protective coatings can be compromised by surface scratches or exposure to substances and conditions beyond BGE’s control. Among other things, chlorine, industrial fumes, chemicals, fertilizers, extreme humidity, lawn pesticides and salt are some of the substances that can corrode paint and finish on metal coatings. For these reasons, the Warranty on Metal, Stainless Steel and Cast Iron Components DOES NOT COVER RUST, OXIDATION, FADING or other BLEMISHES unless it also results in a loss of structural integrity or a failure of these components of the EGG.

what's interesting most about this Seinfeld thread is that there are so many posts...

must mean we're all interested and we all feel cheated like little kids who behaved and asked Santa for the latest tech gadget, new bike or whatever only to be told that the elves haven't figured out how to get it in Santa's sleigh yet.

It'll be ready when it's ready.  I just wish they didn't tease us so much with delivery dates that so far haven't materialized.  Similar issue with the XXL occurred last year and I am glad I didn't buy one.  I don't need to spend $5K for a smoker I might fire up 2-3 times per year.  But that MiniMax, or a KJ Jr. will get more use than my XL and L combined.

When BGE needs to have their logistical people work with their product introduction specialists.

I'm so liking a red Joe Jr. I was hoping to wait for someone to get a max and review it but I may not live that long! I think by looking at the jr that it is a great little grill. Anyone see any advantage to the m/max?

Just don't see the hype for the m/max it is just a shorter version of the small and that means everything is closer to the coals, my small is awesome. Just my opinion.
