Saturday's Twisted Lollipops

Yesterday (Friday) was our 16th year anniversary and we celebrated by going out to a local favorite of ours.
Started out with approximately 40 wings from Publix. My wife much prefers lollipops now so that's what I did. And just like a deboned and galantined yard bird I have gotten faster at lollipops (40+/- 2 or 3 took 15 minutes). Marinated in one jar of Grandma's Molasses and Bad Byrons (heated the molasses up to allow for a thin consistency and quickly mixed in the BB & poured over the the meat and allowed to marinate in the frig several hours while I watched some college football.
I decided to wrap them in bacon. Wrapped about half in turkey bacon and the the other half in center cut bacon (not thick cut). Twisted it around the lollipop in a figure eight so there was no need for a toothpick etc.
I put some foil on the exposed bone for most of the cook. Set-up was indirect at 275℉-300℉.... First batch (turkey bacon wrapped).
A POV pic of my wife playing pool with our Son (taken by my wife).
The first batch (turkey bacon wrapped) pulled & plated.
Second batch (center cut bacon wrapped) is on. Then pulled & plated.

The NP is for North Platte, right?
Have you read this book?

A great book and quick read that captures why Nebraska is such a great place. Highly recommend!

It was a Hellava play with a lot of athleticism. Who's your team LSU I believe lost to an FCS team before.cajuncook said:Play of the year? Against McNeese? Really? They are a high school.

@apfroggy0408 sure little to no mess for the consumer and you get to eat the entire thing minus the end of the wing which nobody eats anyway.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@cajuncook just so you know I would much prefer to see my Huskers play non conference games against OU, LSU, FSU, A&M, Auburn, K State etc. I spect there's nothing wrong playing FCS or NCAA Div1A teams (every team has them in their schedule) but, I prefer we play the best so we can become the best. But, this post was food driven not a pissin contest amongst us. ;-) \m/LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
