Hatch finally

Options
The local Hy Vee grocery finally got a few Hatch chilis in. Picked up last night and roasted this morning.  These are the hot ones that I can barely tolerate any more, but I got a bunch of milds. So a few go a long way anymore.

Looking good! Wish we could get them locally at the store. Luckily I'll be in Albuquerque soon and can bring some back home with me.

I used to have relation in NM and always enjoyed the climate and especially the food.  Perhaps when the wife retires in a couple of years we can relocate.

Couldn't agree more! I can't wait to be there. The green chile, the atmosphere and the memories of visiting my grandparents are what makes Albuquerque a home away from home!

What are some good local restaurants you'd recommend? (Wife and I have eaten at a few different ones, but would love you get your input). Authentic New Mexican food is a must on our trip. Other than that, just some good local spots. I think we are going to also hit up the Casa Rondena Winery while we are there - ever been?

For breakfast i love Pereas on Juan Tabo the Heuvos rancheros are awesome the carne adovada is also delicious

There is a hole in the wall called Sophia's place on 4th street south of Osuna was on DDD  that has gourmet food but when you see the building you'll think i'm out of my mind lol ,but the blue corn pancakes are out of this world you have to get a side with whatever you get there .Its small like 6 tables but do have outdoor seating if its not to cold but a place you should check out

    here are some pics

@llrickman - thank you for the recommendations! We will add those to our list of places to eat. I took my (soon-to-be-90 year old) grandmother to Twisters on that visit. She wasn't nearly as impressed as I was with the whole Breaking Bad stuff  :)) . She only lives about 5-10 minutes from that location in the south valley.

Know anything about the Hotel Parq Central? (other than it's "haunted")

I believe we are all going to eat a Sunday brunch at the Isleta Casino too. Should be fun!

Hotel Parq Central used to be an "insane asylum" I have heard its pretty nice but i have not been to it myself. Its a pretty convenient location though kinda centered in town. If you want a pretty decent dinner buffet Route 66 is always voted best in town though its not really in Albuquerque and Mon-Weds its 12.99 for two

As far as Isleta goes i have only eaten the breakfast at the snack bar with my father in law  but Embers steakhouse is supposed to be pretty good although if i was going to have a steak here other than my place it would  probably be at Monte Carlo its in the back of a liquor store on central but is pretty darn good or Tucanos Brazilian grill for a churasco

You have the NM places to eat like Sadies, Gardunos but i tend to like to out of the way eclectic places more

If you have time you might wanna visit Tims Place. Tim Harris is a young man with downs, He works 6 days a week (off on Tues i think)  and is a great young man, Hes been on the view , i think good morning america he has a counter he keeps with him to keep track of Hugs he gives

not to mention pretty good NM food
