My new grill cabinet

I decided early that I did not want my LBGE built into a table, first because of the fire hazard, second, I like being able to move my egg around depending on the wind direction and third, I've bought so much stuff from Tom at CGS that I needed something with more storage. Here is what I built. Cedar on the outside, treated on the inside.Granite top. I built it so the top was a little higher than the felt line of my egg, easier to move stuff back and forth.

Man, I like that! I don't care to have mine in the table either. Good job!------------------------------

Wow, that would be perfect on my deck. Love the shelves for the grates. You should start your own BGE cabinet business>

No thanks to the business, I build for fun, family and friends. My wife complains how much time I spend in the shop now, little does she know how little work I actually get done.

Perhaps I'm just overlooking it, but I don't see any beer bottle openers.
:-O

Now that is a pretty slick Eggside cabinet! Makes a ton of sense and I can see it holds a lot of Egg Toys. Very nice job.

Never needed a bottle opener for Knob Creek or Bookers.

Great idea is it on wheels so it can be moved?Clearwater FlLGE

No, the cabinet and grills are on my 8' X 10' "GRILL DECK", built just for a grilling and attached to the house right next to the kitchen/great room/main deck with no access to the ground. The pictures were taken looking through the door to this deck. There's a 42" X 42" bump-out that the egg gets pushed back into when not in use.

Looks very nice!!!XL BGE, LG BGE, and a hunger to grill everything in sight!!!Joe- Strongsville, OH

I'm thinking about doing something similar in about 3-4 weeks but I'm a bit uncertain how to move forward. Is your cabinet waterproof/resistent? If so, how did you handle doing this? Caulk along all edges & cracks? Also, did you build the doors yourself or did you buy pre-made ones and just attach? Thanks!

I still have room for my sbge when I find it.

The exterior is cedar with 3 coats of Olympic Maxim deck and fence stain/sealer. I made the doors and drawers and they fit extremely tight. The top overhangs the cabinet 3" on all sides. All the shelves/drawers are tilted back at 3 degrees, keeping them shut tight and any water that might get in runs to the back and out the bottom. Next project is to cover that deck.
-
For the exterior, did you use multiple boards glued together and put under a clamp for one larger board or did you just build the cabinet with the boards as close together as possible and then stain/seal it later on?

I made solid panels, all glued/splined together. Face frame is pocket hole screwed to the carcass.

No wonder you needed a cabinet. Holy grates batman. Could only imagine where all that stuff was before the cabinetLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

It's CGS's northern showroom

Nice! Exactly what we need. Did you have plans? Is the face frame 1x or 2x?

Face frame, doors and drawer fronts are 1X, sides are 7/8" glued up panels, door panels are 5/8" glued up panels. Shelves are 1/2" Sorry no plans, built on the fly. 20 1/2" deep, 38" tall 48" wide. The center section in 20" wide, the right section in 14-1/2" wide, the drawers are about 9" wide.

That .PDF looks like crap, I'll try to clean it up.

I miss Jacob's Well, Baker's is also a nice change.

Not to hijack the post, but 1792 is my "house brand". Great bourbon for the $26 price.
