VI is alive and well. He just celebrated a Birthday (thinking 82nd). Still married to the wonderful Pam (age 41 but poor thing is blind). Travis County (Austin) has not evicted him and his Vespa yet (and I have sent a $hi€-load of letters as to reasons to do so). I guess they are just to busy with drunk prosecutors and Pointy Boots to respond.
He just sent me this:
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

Pass on best to himself. Based on other comments, is he sure about the last item on that list??Sometimes your wings are a touch overdone for my liking.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

He can't be that well if he's spending time with Mickey.

Whew. What a relief. There was a rumor circulating that he had been in a terrible stir-fry accident and lost the ability to hate Stike through the resulting aphasia, plus the doctor told him to refrain from Vespa tricks in the parking lot for 30 days.

I figured he may have been clubbed in the head by a deer's hoof while chasing them out of his garden. I'm glad to hear he's ok.Flint, Michigan

I can confirm the rumor. I got an e-mail from VI about 10 days ago. He and his wife are both doing well outside of Dripping Springs. He was looking for a recipe that unfortunately I was not able to help out with (from personal experience) but pointed him towards one that could work. I told him he was missed here, but I doubt we'll see a return anytime soon.

Wish he would come back, I really enjoyed his plated pictures, they were "picture perfect"and he had a lot of great ideas. What really happened that stopped his posting?Large, small, and a mini
