You just never know who may drop in for supper when you are cooking on a egg! I gladly offered him a plate! Just a friendly reminder my friends to please be cautious when enjoying your outdoor activities. It's that time of the year when they are really active. Luckily this one is non venomous. But the bad ones are crawling as well.imageimageimageimage

I'm not sure where all they are native too. Some call them a coach whip snake as well.

We do as well my friend. Unfortunately we are plagued with cottonmouths. They are bad business for sure.

Unfortunately we too see enough (Eastern Diamondbacks, Pigmy, Cottonmouth Coral, blah blah) to last a entire lifetime. But, I won't complain. ;-)

Cottonmouths are bad news. They have no fear and show no mercy at all. They stand their ground and don't back up one bit. The thought of one striking my grand daughter when she is here is blood curdling to me. Can't stand nor tolerate them.

In my teens, my friend and I were walking through the woods, to find a good tree stand spot (I think). I left my gun in the truck, my friend kept his. I was leading, when a cottonmouth stood up on me 3 ft away. Before I could even think what to do, my friend laid his gun over my shoulder and shot him.

I've been terrified of all snakes since.

I agree with @NPHuskerFL. Let it roam or relocate it. I kinda got a thing for snakes as long as they don't threaten me.
