This Weekend...
Options
No egging... annual family guy's weekend, golf outing, and fish fry. They have almost 40lbs of perch out of Lake Erie for this years feast. Heading up tomorrow...
Planning on a special treat for the few early arrivals... I am going to do some caveman steaks on the campfire

The early guys are my wife's cousins and uncle that own the camp. Been bragging about the caveman method; so I decided to show them. Have a great time Hapster! I took the guys from work camping last weekend and cooked them some chicken bombs (on a kettle) which they all loved. Then let them sober up in the morning after much beer and moon shine before taking them shooting. Boys weekends are a must every once in a while!Bristow Virginia XL&Mini One of the best feelings in life is watching other people enjoy the food I cooked!

Had a great time... Weather was good, company better, food great, and golf sucked. Ain't really upset about the golf, had fun doing it so that's all that mattered.
I'm sure I missed quite a bit around here so I'll have to play a little catch up. Might be tough; have to finish all of my mid year eval's this week.
Couple of pics of the first night cook up at camp. All done on a bed of OO off to the side of the main fire. Did 6 NY strips and 4 potatoes. My BIL and 2 of the cousins that were there the first night said these were the best steaks that they've ever had and they loved the taters. Taters were rubbed with olive oil and then a heavy coat of sea salt, pepper, and garlic salt. They were on for about 45min

And now I'm happily back home where I belong. Kind of like a hobbit, a big hobbit, but a hobbit just the same. Enjoying my favorite stick and some Titos.
