Very nice - we often do the same thing, only two of us and 1/2 yardbird seems to fit the bill.
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Had some fresh garlic scape linguini on the side and it was plenty for the 2 of us and my 3 yr old son.

Further - in the past I've done a whole chicken with 1/2 with one rub, 1/2 with another. Provides variety for 3 or four without doing two chickens.

That's a cool idea, might have to steal it...

Cook the whole bird and make chicken salad with the other half. @Caliking approves of my chicken salad.

Smoke the chicken. I mean smoke the s&#\ out of it. Use any recipe you like. We use mayo, celery and s&p. For the Salado eggfest I added grapes, peaches and used a peach rub but the star is the smoked chicken. I've never had any friends that didn't like it.

Smoked chicken salad is awesome, Whole Foods had 1/2 birds packaged and already rubbed on sale, so I figured why not... Tasty birds and I'm really liking DennyMikes rubs.

Nah, it's actually pretty damn good. Went faster than a stripper's pasties during
    a dentist's convention.
