    OK -  at the risk of being labeled utilitarian, here is my edc piece.  And I actually use it - almost every day.  Light weight, sharp, usable pliers and screwdriver...

    Have my 48GX from college in my desk drawer. Works like a champ. I love RPN. And now all these years later I work for HP.
    I still have my 48SX from college.  I bought it because the instructor recommended we have a calculator that would calculate the real root of a 3rd order polynomial.  Now I use it mostly to balance 2 checkbooks.  I leave the balance of both accounts on the stack at all times.  I also use it twice a year to go around the home setting all of the clocks when we have those annoying time changes.

    I was mistaken, my second one was a 48SX also (after my 34C quit working).  Nowadays I too use it to balance my checking account (only one)!

    @Zmokin‌ what's a checkbook?

    My wife still uses one. Checks it against her phone banking app and Dave Ramsey's workbook.

    I have an HP-45.  Oh what an incredible device.  Bought that sucker new in 1973.  So powerful that I put my slide rule away.  RPN rocks!!!  This sucker was actually the first programmable HP calculator, if my memory serves me correctly.  Still have the whole enchilada, including the manual.

    Mine is this sleek, fast opening Kershaw aka a Ken Onion model 1660CKT.
    image
    That looks good. Is it Ken Onion designed I assume? What kind of steel for the blade?

    Yes, as I said aka (also known as) a Ken Onion model. I'm not sure what metal was used but it is and stays razor sharp. OTOH what sold me on this was the LEGAL fast speed one finger tripping opening vs. the illegal Italian "switch blade" that I always wanted as a kid, but was not allowed to buy, own, or even be caught in possession with where I grew up

    Neither am I... That's why I tell anyone who asks that it's not a knife, it's a pencil sharpener, like my dad taught me to.

    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    I tried this AFO for EDC, just too big. I have a ZT 350 and an SKD 360, great knives but also just too big for me to EDC. Back to the old mini-Reflex. Still works best for me...just the right size. I've come to prefer automatics and assisted-openers.
