I'm a big fan of grinding my own meat now. Beef, chicken, turkey etc.. I won't get on my soap box about "knowing what's in your food" but suffice it to say that a 50/50 blend of Chuck and Rib meat makes a great burger. I had to unhinge my jaw to eat the thing, @johnkitchens...

@fence0407 - I use the grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer. It works really well and the price is right. I cheat and use a burger patty mold by Weber (it does really nice 1/4lb and 1/2lb patties and puts the dimple on top.)
My daughter's 17th birthday party is this weekend. Turkey and beef burgers on are tap. There will be plenty more of all that soon enough! :-)

I might have to get that attachment for the mixer! The Weber patty mold sounds like a good investment as well - think I saw it at Wally World for cheap the other day. I picked up the patty mold at Home Depot for $8. My ice cream make is a cheap POS that has served me for at least 20 years and I've been too cheap and lazy to replace it.

You're welcome! When the time comes to replace the old ice cream maker - I'd suggest the mixer attachment. No ice, no salting required. Put the bowl in the freezer the day before and it'll stay cold long enough to make a batch of homemade ice cream.Large - Mini - Blackstone 17", 28", 36"

That is a fine looking burger! I like the fact that the mater is the same size as the burger. Nothing like a home grown mater! (for me that means grown at my neighbors home).Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
