Sunday Night Deep Dish Pizza

Options

Received this new deep dish pizza stone for fathers day and we decided to give it a try. Used the dough recipe from BGE.COM and went to work. After the dough rested and got the egg up to 425 degrees the dough went into the greased up stone.

Baked the crust first for 10 minutes and came out like this.

Openned up the provolone cheese bag and great, its moldy so into the trash it went and ended up having to use a cheddar/jack blend. Cheese on the bottom and then some sauce.

Next layer was sausage.

Then mushrooms

On to the Egg for a 25 - 35 minute bake

While the pie was baking, the wife used the remaining dough for some garlic butter cheese sticks.

Sticks done

This thing was amazing, sausage was a tad salty but that might also be becuase I used almost a whole pound.

image

Bottom crust was not quite done enough but it wasn't soggy either

One piece of this and 1 stick was enough for sure as its mighty filling.
