Raindrops kept falling on my head...

Options
Last night I had just pulled my cook off of the Egg (400°) and had closed everything up and it started POURING rain. The steam started coming off the dome and I was worried that it would cool too fast, contract too quickly, and crack. So yes, I did go stand next to my table with an umbrella over the Egg  until the rain subsided to a drizzle. This morning I inspected and it seemed fine, we will see with tonight's cook. Am I being overly protective or just smart? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers!
