Pizza stone temp

Anyone know what temp is optimal for the pizza stone itself? Thanks.

    I'm not sure but BGE should be at least 650 or higher. Put stone in early to preheat.

    I have had beat results when stone is 400-425.

    I generally give it about a half hour to preheat and make sure it is about 500 degrees before putting on the pizza.  The preheat time is very important.

    Depends on the dough and it's hydration. What kind of pie are you making? 

    Generic pizza joint style? 500°
    Napoletana? 7-900°
    Pan? 450-500°
    Chicago Deep Dish? 450-500°


    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

    Generic seems applicable. I got the stone up to about 480 and it worked fine. No scorching. Thanks.
