Thanks to Durangler for the Axner referral regarding a Cordierite pizza stone. I was able to find a 16" round cordierite locally at: Portland Pottery, 87 Messina Drive, Braintree MA for $25. www.portlandpottery.com. It's 5/8" thick.

I have two Pampered Chef's that I keep using. I have not shattered one yet. If one shatters, I will use the next one. If that one goes, I will get something better. Until then, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is my motto.I do my pizza at 550°. So that may help that I do not go extremly high.------------------------------
