Our Custom Egg Tables

Options
Hi! We are new to this forum but not new to forums in general so I am familiar with the etiquette around these parts. :) We are Egg owners ourselves and have made a business building custom egg tables for those of you who arn't DIY'ers. I would be more than happy to discuss tables plans and offer advice/expertise to those building their own tables. Here are a few of our custom tables:

Our tables are pretty heavy duty. Here's one supporting over 920lbs.

And this little guy is my personal table (not as nice as the custom builds we do for our customers but its all I need!)

I cooked my first pizza on it a few weeks ago and it came out HORRIBLE. However, I didn't have a pizza stone so that, I'm sure, was the problem. I have a stone now and will try it again here soon. :)

Thanks! We are in Kennesaw. Originally our shop was in VillaRica but we found a better spot in this area.

Thanks! David (lead designer) is a Coast Guard vet and I (JC) am currently a UH-60 Blackhawk Pilot in the Army National Guard. Thank you for the support that you give to the Wounded Warrior Project. They really do a lot for our vets. Its comforting to know that there are companies/programs that exist with people like you helping change lives. 'MERICA!

Its an honor and a privilege to serve those who keep us safe and free.  I was unable to joint the armed services to to back and vision issues from football.  I figure its the least I can do.  WWP is a great organization and I am proud to help them out.

Yeah? So now vendors can advertise here? Sure am glad none of the others do. Looks like spam to me.

    General Forum Rules

Spam, as we all know by now, is an unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or promotion of other websites, or non-relevant posts intended to promote something or someone. This sort of spam cannot be cooked on an EGG - although the other kind can, and you will find some great recipes on the forum! Please do not spam or self-promote on this forum.

While we recognize that some forum members are also active as suppliers to the BGE community, we do insist that commercialism be kept in check. Please don't spam the forum with posts touting links intended to sell products, or blatantly attempt to self-promote your business or generate traffic to other websites or forums, etc. If this occurs, your posts will be deleted and your account may be temporarily suspended or banned permanently. Spamming also includes unsolicited private messages or material sent to a large number of different users, so don't try that either.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I am an Egg owner... who happens to build tables for Eggs. I've read the TOS. However, it clearly states "While we recognize that some forum members are also active as suppliers to the BGE community, we do insist that commercialism be kept in check. Please don't spam the forum with posts touting links intended to sell products, or blatantly attempt to self-promote your business or generate traffic to other websites or forums, etc. "

I am not spamming or attempting to sell products. If my website address in my signature is an issue I can take it off. However, as previously stated, if anyone wanted advice and tips/tricks on tables, I'd offer up my knowledge.. as I do this professionally. It's a fine line.

If I've done something wrong, or if this thread is not allowed, then by all means (MODS) delete it. I meant no disrespect. I'm part of the BGE community regardless of how I make a living.

Would it have been better if I had posted a picture of one of our tables and titled the thread "My new Egg Table!" and then engaged everyone into a conversation about it, only to later tell them about how/why I built it? That'd be a bit misleading and unprofessional.

I apologize if this thread is considered spam. It was not my intention. Do what you must, Mods.

Let's calm down fellas. Seams like a legit guy and a serviceman at that. Yea this is a great way to advertise, but I took it as more of a "welcome" post. If he's going to be an active forum member lets welcome him. I'm glad to see what he does for the egg bizz too. I'm pretty sure he said he'd offer any help to those of us building our own tables.

Give him a break, if he's slamming adds around than slam him. But I welcome you aboard and thanks for showing us some of your work.

+1 no harm no foul. I'm a Veteran myself and so are many others on this forum. So, although I respect your service I'm not giving a freebie because of it. I'm saying I don't see anything wrong with the way it has been presented. Besides, clearly you could help folks that need sound advice on an upcoming table construction. And FWIW thank you for your service :-)

Your post didnt offend me. Thank you for your service and thank you for the pics of those beautiful tables. I think a few folks need to do a reach around and yank the stick out of their rearends. Its not like you are on here posting a brochure for your products. But what the hell do I know? I just like reading all the posts and looking at the pictures.

Sorry if you think I have a stick where the sun don't shine, but I prefer not to see advertising here... or what LOOKS like advertising.

None of the other vendors do it. Chris and Tom for instance. Both are eggers AND VENDORS who never say a word or post a single pic of Dizzy Pig or Ceramic Grill Store products. Ever. If no one says anything about this one, it's not fair to those guys (and others),

I appreciate your service too, PoshPatios, but it has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Point taken carolina q. Personally, I would have waited and followed his post history to see what his motives truly are before confronting him, but thats just me. If that was only time he did it and then assimilated with the group showing cooks, etc, no harm no foul. But thats just me. Stick

I have no problem with it. He didn't come in saying directly " hey if you need a table I can build you one" , maybe indirectly but he did offer to answer questions and help people. One of the hardest things for people is usually figuring out how big to cut the holes for their eggs, I be the has every damn dimension they would need and if he is willing to share that kind of info with people then that's awesome. Those are some beautiful tables! Thank you for your service! Rock on! Pizza stone will definitely help with your pie.

Tables look super!! That looks to be Red Cedar? What finish, maintenance schedule do you recommend for finish? Are your tables meant to be left outside and uncovered?

Some forums have a supporting vendor category that allows, for a small fee, a person to advertise and help/ support the members.

Perhaps you could help people with general set of for a generic table that would help DIY get started on creating a a personalized table for their own space. As an example, I have a restaurant stainless steel prep table . I plan to use it as my prep table for my large egg, either as just a table or actually getting a hole cut in it or adapting it in some way as a resting place for the egg. The problem is that it ugly as sin and would detract from ourJapanese garden themed front yard. I'll probably just build a bamboo enclosure to hide the hideous legs and shelf under the table and live with it. So much to learn and do with this egg stuff. Great isn't it?
