You do realize that you are not measuring the air temperature, right?  Hard to tell exactly what it is pointed at.

Salt Block heated to just over 500°slowly.
    image

A quick spray of Pam and added the beef liver and white onions to the block.  The smell was truly intense.image
The SWMBO even liked the smell but, won't even get close to the liver.
She did taste the onion and really liked the flavor.
Cooked to just slightly pink to brown center and removed.

This was an amazing flavor to experience.
This really surprised me that there was no outstanding salty taste.

I have at least 10lb of beef liver in the freezer. Might have to pickup a salt block and try this.

I would tear that up.  Creatine!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

What is it that will gross us out? Actually, I prefer calves liver. And chicken liver is even better!!

    And where's the bacon?!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@Litttle Steven.  I will definitely try to find that.  Thanks for the help.
I really tried to remove as much moisture as possible and even left it in the fridge for 1 hour uncovered to help.  My last experience with the salt block was with marinaded shrimp that I took right out of the marinade and it released a lot of the salt from the block.
Ace Hardware is where I got mine...35 bucks or so.
Ok Whiz....LOL I guess you have to grow up eating it.

I did too.  My dad would make us finish the plate before getting up.  Until I threw it up on the plate after plugging my nose and swigging green koolaid.

Discovering that organ meats are the most nutrient dense with a Lalonde average nutrient density score of 21.3, Beef 4.3, Chicken 3.1, Pork 3.7 for example.

A brilliant idea I picked up is freezing it and cutting into small pieces(pills) to take in the morning.  You reap all the benefits without any nasty aftertaste.  Another is grinding and adding to chili, ragus, burger, etc.

As scarred as I am, it is worth it.

I will eat chicken livers IF they are breaded and fried like the ones they sell at KFC, but not very often. I cant handle beef or pork liver.

@Focker - you know they have actual pills with all the nutrients you need or want rather than make your own organ meat Mike and Ikes...probably cheaper, not as much fun, but cheaper.

I tried to eat it growing up.  My Dad made me try.  I cut it into little pieces and swallowed them whole.  I'd rather die than eat liver.  Well, sort of....
