I've seen once or twice before but can't remember the name. Looks like a stainless steel flat surface that you place over the fire to cook burgers or Philly cheesesteaks on. Anyone have one and how do you like it?

A griddle?

Not a griddle. The one I saw appeared to be stainless steel w a lip to catch any juices. Obviously a cast iron skillet would do the same, just wondering what this thing was called. I think I saw one of @vidalia1 pics w one.

That's it. Thanks. And it's called a griddle. My apology @BYS1981. Looks like a good way to fry an egg and sauté some peppers and onions, etc.

Yea, some higher end range tops come with griddles. Or older ones, wedgewoods, kieffer and merit, etc. I talked to a guy who swears by it, but I don't have any experience with it on my egg.

Prior to the invention of the round KettleQ the company made heavier duty square ones that fit inside a large egg called a GriddleQ. Though they were pricey (about double the KettleQ) they were well built and works well. I still use mine from time to time and consider it just another toy in my toy box!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Looking good @RRP. May have to think about 1 of these.
