egg related. ..pics and phone cameras
Options
Just wondering how many just take pics with their phones. In my opinion anyone can take a nikon d800 or whatever $3000 camera you name and take pretty good pics. Anyone can drive a corvette fast (expensive nikon) but it's tougher driving a chevette.(phone camera)
Notwithstanding, cazzy does a freaking amazing job on his pics...No one compares. @hapster does an unbelievable job with his iphone.. great shots. I have the Samsung note 3. I haven't spent much time studying the camera but I use it on the forum because it's easier. With my canon I have to shoot, download then upload on the mac. After 17 pbr and dinner I'm usually too tired.
Any phone camera tips?

There are freebie apps like PS (Photoshop Express) you can play around with. I know nothing of photography but they have an "auto-fix" that usually makes the pics look better IMO. You can play around with various effects to add some bling to your pics.Random iphone tip- there are many similar effect filters built into the iphone. These filters are not saved to the image file, so if you upload the file you don't see the effects.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I would try drinking 20 PBR....should be pretty steady then. I always hit that point when all of the sudden I can function again. That or maybe it's my vision that becomes blurry and makes it seem like my hands are steady. I'm going to do an experiment tonight and let you know!

Tip: cell phone cameras suck in anything but the best lighting or if you use horrendous filters like Instagram.

I previously took all pics with my camera phone, which worked well during day cooks, but at night it didn't work as well, especially in the kitchen. I could fake some bokeh playing around with the camera settings and with free photo editing apps (I don't remember which one).The plated shot below of sous vide lobster tails was taken with my camera phone. I think its one of the better food shots I have taken.I now have a Canon 70D which was bought to document caliprince and all of his awesomeness. Still working on learning how to use it to its full potential, but It works very well with the lighting in my kitchen and outside at night. The downside is lugging the camera gear outside, and getting greasy fingers on it, then downloading all of the pictures. But I download pics to my desktop everyday anyways, so its not that bad.

I find the iPhone takes a good pic, but when I'm doing plated shots I use the iPad. And @henapple is right when you have a camera you tend to get a little inebriated after you cook and plugging camera into computer then down loading."I AIN'T GOT NO TIME FOR DAT!"

@hapster 100% of my pics and posts have been on my mobile. HTC OneS. SWMBO has a nice digital camera with several lenses and filters etc. But, never thought of using it. I might need to rethink that and use it for some better food pics. SWMBO and her friend used to photograph weddings as a part time business almost 15 yrs ago and this was with a regular camera (before digital became the norm). They took some beautiful photos both color and B&W. I personally liked the B&W best.
