After @allsid posted about his chicken I just had to try it.
Soaked the bone in breast in buttermilk for 4 1/2hrs, double dipped in the Italian bread crumbs mixed with some Tsunami Spin and onto the egg at 400* indirect for 30 mins and then raised direct till done. I wanted the crumbs to set before I flipped is the only reason I went indirect.
Plated with a fresh salad

I'd dive into that.
Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

Was it crispy? It looks just like fried chicken.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

The crisp was good Not exactly what you get from frying but close. I will go hotter and indirect the next time to see if that will help the crunch.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

looks nice. I have never done anything breaded on the egg but I might have to try . . .Columbus, OH

Looking pretty nice. I've done breaded on the egg, indirect 400º-425º. SWMBO likes it fried for about 1 minute a side, then finished on the egg. provides a crispy crust. I've also misted with oil after breading and before roasting, not as good as the quick fry, but better than just a roast.Kinda like Chicken Parmigiana only without the sauce and cheese.DIL advised a great breading mix (if frying) is one part corn meal, 2 parts corn flake crumbs, 3 parts bread crumbs (4 parts crumbs if using Panko)Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Thanks for the advice @skiddymarker !! I will surely try the mist of oil. Any certain one work better than others?-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

By type, assume you mean oil. My Misto has EVOO in it all the time, use it to coat pans and it works great for grilled Romaine lettuce as well. If you meant the sprayer it is this one:Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Misting it works great! Pam Canola is good too.
