Note the clip-on mini cheapo floodlight on the pole. I move it up and down as needed.[p]Mike

this works for me - an old hardhat with a Nite Blaster bolted on. Allows for hands free use and "amazingly" the light is always shining where I'm looking!!! How does it do that???

Charbon,
I picked up this Charmglow fluorescent lamp at Home Depot. I throws off a good amout of light and it workes on 4 AA batteries. Until something better comes along I think this will work for you.

Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday. -
Charbon,
I needed some kind of light also, so I got a cheapo light at Lowes. I needed something in a hurry so I planned to junk it and get something better. But - I have been using it for a year now!! (and using the same batteries)
It's not bad for 15 bucks!! I attached the mounting bracket on my eggmate side table with wire ties so when I junk the light, it won't leave any holes!! And the bracket doesn't interfere with lowering and raising the eggmate. HTH[p]mule

GrillMeister,
This looks great. But does the text mean that you have to replace the batteries after only 20 hours of use? How many times did you wind up buying batteries?
Thanks for posting this.

kk,[p]I'm still working on the first set. I turn it off when I walk away from the egg.

-
Charbon,
Maverick makes a great led light that puts out a nice stream of light. it retails for about $60

Charbon,
Thanks for all the ideas. I know I can't wear a head lamp without undue abuse and laughing from spouse. I'm very lucky I get away with all the supreme bafoonery at present. I think I'll go with LED model, 4 AA batteries. It just seems at times your looking down the dome vent without a clue as to what you can see.

Charbon,[p]Target sells a very nice headlamp for $15.[p]River Rock 0.5W LED Headlamp[p]You can read a review on it here: http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/riverrock_headlamp.htm[p]

Charbon,
I have one of these. The flexible arm works great to train the light on the thermometer then re-adjust it to the grill.
