The video of them running down the highway is pretty crazy. I didn't know they knew how to read street signs.

I've seen bison running like this on the highway that enters Yellowstone from the East gate. Never seen this many running at the same time though. It's pretty scary when the bison are running straight at you even being in the car. Sometimes they run straight down the middle of the road then veer off right before what it seems like their gonna hit you.

I need more info. Does the grid go across the caldera or do you go raised direct? What is the best smoking wood for bison? To be sure I.m cooking to temp, will Maverick make a 2000ºF probe that I will not have to wrap the leads on HD foil?

@skiddymarker - you put the grid on your geosynchronous satellites.  Smoke wood is very German Black Forest - use indigenous fir.   The cook overall is raised direct.  Stay away from the Maverick probes - they're thermistors and they don't handle magma well. ;)

Nola - Thanks! I was planning on using the Iridium (hot/cold) cooking technique recipe, low earth orbit providing a kinda rotisserie effect. How long for a bison packer, 2 nano seconds, maybe 3?

Steven, yes, if you use the right one.  Please consult the table below, based on how you'd like the bison cooked.  The general ranges are (from least to most):

    black crispy (R)
    elemental carbon (MR)
"spock" in star trek II: wrath of khan (M)
    VI's wok mongolian beef (MW)
    black hole (WD)

  • I noticed the Brine in the Caldera, how long do you brine your buffalo and what do you put in your brine?  I am assuming sulphur?

You should brine your bison with pink sulfur #1, also known as Prague sulfer #1, or Insta-sulfur.   Also, rosemary adds a little ge ne sais quoi.
