Well its on so well see tomorrow night on some pork. Also found 2 good uses for the pot plant holder. Put some rags on top and place your dome upside down on it to do gasket work. Also my cast iron oven sits in it with enough clearance to put those gel burners underneath. ..great to keep stuff warm tailgating.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

That's a potted plant holder?  I thought it was a stand for my hot plate setter when I take it out.  That's what I use mine for anyway:)

I wish I had one of those when I did my gasket. I ended up scratching the clear coat on my new concrete table top when I replaced my gasket. I'm such an idiot. Luckily my good friend is the one who made it and came to fix it for the price of beer.

Replace gaskets with ONE Rutland. Base only. No need to remove dome.

Different expansion/contraction rates for steel and ceramic. It's why they no longer sell that Mini stand. You can thank lowercasebill.

@henapple - post pics of your work brother. I hope the PBR didnt blur your vision and your gasket looks like a roller coaster ride track..... Up and down the side of the egg - LOL

I will probably need to replace mine soon and want to see finished products....

If those minute "hairs" bother you just take your butane lighter or even a propane torch and they burn right off. Don't worry you won't hurt that 2,200 degree gasket, but the tiny hairs will be gone!

I want to Rutland but the gasket on my egg purchased last year has held up well. Pizzas and the whole 9 no issues.
Mini has a Rutland I just like the look and feel of it.
