Half Moon Baking Stone

I am considering buy this but not exactly sure how it works.
Do you grill directly on the stone or does something set on the stone?

I feel the half moon stone can create a indirect side to the large Egg when the half moon raised grid is used on top of it. I also think it is a quite an expense for what I would consider a "fringe" cook that may not be needed that often. I'd wait and see just what you like to cook before you spend on this type of set-up.
