Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
We hope you had a hoppy Easter and are ready to spring into warm weather cooking mode! There’s nothing better than spending time outdoors with the sweet aroma of fresh cooked Ribs. Baseball season is also underway, so it's the perfect time to try out some chicken wing variations! We have Jamaican Jerk, Lemon Pepper, Fired-Up Wings and even a Whiskey Onion and Chicken Steak if wings aren't your thing. Bon appetit!

Big Green Egg headquarters has moved - come visit our new showroom and check out the museum and culinary center too! 3786 DeKalb Technology Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30340

Here we go again! :D

Picked up a 9.8 lb cryovac pack of beef chuck ribs this morning for $3.97lb.  Both slabs are on the egg and it's chugging along.  One is seasoned with S&P and one with Mickey's Coffee Rub.   These are actually a lil more meaty than my last ones.  My wife is excited since she fell in love with beef ribs during our BBQ tour!   :D

Not correctly.  These are beef chuck ribs. They have 4 bones where plate short ribs have 3.

Thanks cap!  The write-up was very enjoyable, and has even made me consider doing a food and travel blog.

You turned the outside damper around?
My push/pull tab is toward the left.
Nice looking piece of beef there. Not sure I've ever seen that cut in my neck of the woods.
Better keep a sharp eye out for it. Reasonable price for sure.
Look forward to the finished product.

No, that's how my damper is on both my eggs.  Take a pic of yours cause i'm not sure what you're talking about.  I'm sure there is somewhere round your place that sells them.

I forgot to post these, and they totally have nothing to do with this cook.  These are a couple shots from my visit to Nashville last weekend!

Ooops, I'm wrong, your correct. Just looked at my egg and dampers are just like yours. Not sure what I was seeing there.

What kind of light is that on the handle? Is it something made by BGE? Looks nice.

Not sure what's gotten into you. Those have everything to do with the cook!

No.  It's actually made by Weber.  Works pretty well!

  • I picked up that light last week. It's awesome how it fits right onto the handle like it was made for the egg.  A big thanks to Weber for making cool BGE parts.
