San Diego Egg Table

Finally got around to building a proper home for my egg. Used redwood and plans on scottmoore.net. Finished with four coats of marine polyurethane. My table nest should be in this weekend so I'll be replacing the pavers with a piece of granite. Hooks on the end are stainless mini boat cleats. Still trying to pick out a good towel rack for the front. Suggestions?

The self righteous ale is a winner. The hops of an IPA with the body of a porter. It's one of the better new beers I've had in the past year, and I've had a lot of beer

Very nice table! Looks like you did not have to go far to purchase the marine polyurethane. Rosecrans to Shelter Island Dr...then East three blocks to San Diego Marine Exchange. You have a nice view of Shelter Island, NAS North Island and downtown San Diego. Went to SD for the first time earlier this year. Great trip, great weather, great beer, and oh yeah nice table.

I lived in Kingsville, TX for a short time while I was in the Navy. A native San Diegian I much prefer the Pacific Ocean view to the Gulf view. NAAF, NAAS, NALF, NAF, Kingsville, TX, was a Naval Air Station. I was TAD there out of San Diego boot camp waiting for schools in Norman, Oklahoma and Pensacola, Florida. Probably before "you were a twinkle in your father's eye."TUTTLE871 said:chashans said:

It's a view looking down at La Playa and San Diego Yacht Club. On the far side is NAS North Island Coronado. -
Switched out the pavers for a table nest and a 20x20 piece of tile.

Finally settled on a towel rack for my table. Ended up going with a stainless steel ADA shower grab bar.

Your table looks great.. Curious, where did you find the 20x20 tile? type of material? I like the thickness of tile that you have.. I have been looking for one at Home Depot and Lowe's..

I was in San Diego for the first time this past spring. It's on the short list of places to move to shortly. I would love to have that patio and view. Add a kegerator with fresh Ballast Point Sculpin and call it heaven!
