Many thanks to you regarding the mystery of unzipping the sewn hem on the bags of lump. I read the Google message and proceeded to the basement and opened up a bag of BGE lump, then a bag of Wicked Good. It was so easy that I wanted to open up more of them! I'll never be intimidated again by a new bag of lump......

egret, Glad to be able to help. You can explain and explain a proceedure, but as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. I hate to think of how long ago (seventy some years) my dad taught me how to open a feed sack. Mother had the same problem as sugar came in cloth sacks in those days and they opened the same way.
Keep practing.
