Hey Guys!

I received a complimentary issue of the GBE magazine with the purchase of my egg. I'd love to subscribe, but can't find any info.

Anybody have any info?

Thanks / Tim

Not sure that is a available as a subscription  - it's more of a sales piece given(?) to dealers. Not sure how often it is even printed but I believe it is only annually. I agree it is a slick piece, but you'll learn more about your egg and how to use it here and on greeneggers.com than what you'll glean from that piece. Just saying...

    Thank You RRP.

On a different note, My 14 yr old son & I just got a BGE and thought we'd join this forum to maybe get advice and questions answered. I certainly hope this is a family friendly place to come.

To the first person who commented, I wasn't looking for a 'smart aleck' answer. This was a real question.

Most of the folks here are pretty easy going and have good sense of humor.
I wouldn't get too worried about the first post.
    Good luck on your cooks.

Unless you are prepared to spend much more than you did on your Egg - DO NOT OPEN the Product Catalog!

I'm sure @berndcrisp didn't mean anything. There's a lot of jostling on here. My son is 14 but each parent has their "line".

Welcome to the forum. It's great that you have your son interested in cooking. It's become a lost art as cooking now means opening a box for some. Looking forward to some of your cooks.

Edit:. Not a lost art for eggheads, of course.

    Tim,

Welcome to you and your son.   I think you will find the forum to be about 75% great recipes and advice, 20% kidding around (especially the later in the evening it gets)  about 4% one up-manship, and 1% "I'm outta here!"  All and all a great experience and you will learn more here than from any cookbook or magazine.

Just wait til you post your first "I'm cooking an xxxxxxxx and I need help!' question, and see how quickly the advice flows.

    Sit back and enjoy.

    Welcome to the forum...

Give it a few weeks, your skin will start to take on the characteristics of a brisket with a great bark and all will be well :)

Great that you are getting your son involved... He might not appreciate it now; but when he's older and standing by the egg with a beer thinking back, he's gonna smile thinking of how he got to that point.

On another note; try to take and post pictures of your cooks. We like food porn and there are a lot of Doubting Thomas types here :))

As a formal gesture, welcome! This place is a blast. Everything above is doing in good fun. We are mostly a laid back bunch. After all, it's food we are talking about... Plus the best device to cook it on.

I think this forum is the best BGE magazine.

Sometimes though, at least at my job, I think that marketing people must have flunked out of every other department. I would think that BGE would monitor this forum and have a monthly or quarterly "Best Of" on a website with recipes, reviews, accessories, etc. There is so much free marketing here from consumers that goes unused.

There is a Best Of thread here on the forum. Not sure who decides what makes it but it is updated pretty often. Maybe triggered by number of Likes? Don't know. Link is in the upper right corner under 'New Discussion' link.
