It doesn’t get much hotter than the EGG cookin’ in July! Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with a bit of whatever you’re using for the Beer Can Chicken. Ice Cream Sandwiches are also a great way to stay cool. Looking for some great ideas for a summer cook out? Try out a Pimento Cheeseburger or Dr. BBQ’s Spare Rib Surprise. Just don’t be surprised if your neighbors stop by for a quick bite when they smell what you’re cooking!

1st attempt at this one... not sure why it has taken me so long.

Organic Chickens from Costco.

Rubbed inside and outside of skin.

Blue Moon

Smoked with a little apple wood.

Indirect at 375 for about an hour and fifteen minutes.

Very tasty.  WIll cook a little longer next time.  Chicken was cooked at 165, but I like mine a little more done

  • Now this one I have success with.  I could to almost 180 and it is so good with the apple chips.  I know most people say 160 but we do one all the time and it is moist.  Kosher salt and water for hours before the rub. For Christmas I had prime rib in the oven and whole beer chixs on the egg.  They all came out at the same time.  I did pat myself on the back!

I don't think either the beer of the position of the bird makes all that much difference in the end product, but I lover the way a beer can chicken looks on the grill!
