Found this in Garden and Gun.  May be the bomb for New Year's morning though.

I just perfected my own Holiday Cocktail recipe:
    take:
    1oz chartreuse
    2oz dry vermouth
    1oz Fresh lemon juice
Take these ingredients and pour down the drain.

Pour 3oz of your favorite 90 proof Whiskey into a rocks glass and enjoy. Tell your guests to help themselves to whatever they want in the bar (but keep their mitts of the whiskey).

    Happy New Year.

How about a Dark and Stormy. If you can't find Goslings Ginger Beer, any brand will work. In a tall glass filled with ice add 4 - 5 oz of Gosling's Stormy Ginger Beer and top with Gosling's Black Seal Rum. Garnish with a lime wedge.
I enjoy a dark and stormy. I have Goslings ginger beer and fresh limes. I use Kracken spiced rum.

How about a classic Side Car?  One part Cognac, one part Cointreau or Grand Marnier and one part fresh lemon juice. Dress it up in a martini glass with a sugared rim.

I am about to share one of the best cocktails you can pre-make, a punch if you will.....

    Pre-Mix in Pitcher...
    1 part Cran-APPLE cocktail
    1 part Club Soda
1/4 or less  TripleSec (to taste)

    Alcohol...
Absolute Orange Vodka (any orange vodka)

Pour over a glass and Garnish with a Lime.

Make it!  The club soda adds a bit of bubbly-ness, and cuts the sweet Cran-Apple.  The triple sec is not a must, but it really works with the Orange Vodka.

This is our signature cocktail for my company party, to the point that we only served 5 beers, 10 bottles of wine, and 2X 1.75 liters of vodka.  Even the the guys wanted the Punch.

I have a very hard time engaging in passive relaxation. Twitter.Instagram.

    Classic Old Fashioned:

2 3/4 oz of Rye or Bourbon (higher proof is better here* and I prefer Rye but it's personal preference)
1/4 oz of Simple syrup (more or less - personal taste)
Dash of bitters (to your taste)

Put ingredients in a glass add enough ice to chill. Stir until glass is cloudy. You can serve in this glass or if you have large ice cube molds (and you should), strain over one large ice cube in high ball.

Cut a decent sized piece of orange rind and squeeze over drink, rub around the rim of the glass and drop it in. If you want to show off a bit (and why wouldn't you?) squeeze the rind through the flame of a lighter and it will light the oils as they mist over the flame.

Enjoy - and get ready to make more of these.

    * to stand up to the sweetness of simple syrup

Here's one I did last year.

Crazy Cinnamon Cephalopod (F-ing Awesome Shot) @p

                Homemade Disaronno Amaretto ()

                Goldschlager Cinnamon Schnapps

                Kraken Black Spiced Rum

Freeze all liquors before building shot

Layer equal parts in a shot glass; ½ oz. each

                Layer by specific gravity of liquid;

Amaretto first, then Goldschlager, then Kracken

for me, it's always an old fashioned.  but for a more special NYE cocktail, my favorite drink by far is a French 75.

    1 1/2 oz Gin
    1/2 oz St. Germain
    1/2 oz Lemon Juice
    1/4 oz Simple Syrup
    Top with champagne

I'm ringing it in like a king!  I'm drinking Budweiser.  We also light fireworks at midnight.  Alcohol and fireworks.  Can it get any more fun than that?

The two martini favorites of SWMBO-

    #1:
juice from one half of a lemon, strained into chilled glass
    2 shots pomegranate juice
    2 shots triple sec
1 shot pomegranate vodka (or more depending on your tastes)
shake over ice in a shaker and pour into glass, garnish with twist

    #2
    2 shots peach schnapps
1.5 - 2 shots Chambord liquer (not cheap so use as you see fit)
    1 shot raspberry vodka
shake over ice and pour into martini glass

Both have a nice holiday red color

    My favorite:

    1.5  or 2 shots amaretto
1 or 1.5 shots Johnny Walker Red
1.5 shots Vermouth (dry or Rosso depending on your taste)

shake over ice in shaker and pour into a martini glass or low ball

Hope this helps, wishing a great New Year to all!!
