I do this all the time, but just use tap water in a bowl or dishpan type container. I would not apply any heat, you will pre-cook the meat. It will not take longXLBGE, Small BGE, Homebrew and GuitarsRochester, NY

They are stuck together, just wish I could get them apart because they are thawed on the outsideIn Manchester, TNVol For Life!

If you get the temp up to 148* you can cook them there too. Just keep the time below a couple of hours if you don't know the water temp

Opinions are like @$$hol3$ everybody has one. This link is pretty cut and dry with good info on the topic at hand. http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/the-big-thaw-safe-defrosting-methods-for-consumers/LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@allsid even if two or three pieces are frozen together? I wouldn't mind doing that in the future when I don't plan well. I guess I could separate them while they cook.@Little Steven thanks for the help, they were in the 90-100 degree bath for maybe 45 min, they finally separated and I have them on the egg now.In Manchester, TNVol For Life!

@allsid...cooking from frozen state is perfectly acceptable and in fact in a lot of commercial kitchens this is very common practice. Not to mention a time saver and the end product in most cases is the same (we are still cooking to the required internal temp).LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Well, these are the best thighs I ever made. I've never had skin this crispy. I just did them 400 raised direct and skin side down the last 20 min. I'm pretty sure I have done this before but they have never been this good. Too bad they are for the buffalo chicken cheese ball recipe I'm making for tomorrow. I ate all four thigh skins since they are not able to be used in the recipe couldn't let them go to waste. In Manchester, TNVol For Life!

Anyways, I pulled the chicken and seasoned with Central BBQ shake seasoning. Amazing stuff and I highly recommend the place if you find yourself in Memphis. I ate there like twice a week when I lived there during dental school. Their BBQ nachos are what made who I am today...In Manchester, TNVol For Life!
