Got my 9 year old a Snap Circuits kit for Christmas and he is tearing through the book building everything as fast as he can. He just asked me if it mattered which resistor goes where. I told him yes it does (the pieces in these kits are labeled with the values) and told him to notice the stripes. I then explained the resistor color code and he got it right away. I didn't know the resistor color code when I was 9. Huge smile of pride on my face!
