I have had my Guru for about 3 years. Has anyone experienced failure with the probes. The last couple of cooks my pit probe will suddenly start beeping low then it will register at 400+ degrees. I will wiggle and straighten the wires some and it will correct itself. Also, from time to time the food probe will register just dashes. I'm thinking my pit and food wires may be shot from all the winding up and some kinks that I see. I check the wires to make sure they are clicked in the unit. Has anyone ever sent a unit in to get it checked out and refurbished? May just order some probes and see how it goes. Right now, I'm having to wake up and make sure everything is alright or the neighbor will call and say my smokers beeping..lol.

also i need to mention when it registers 400+ I'm cooking at 250 dome

Do you own a volt meter? If you do you can check their resistance and check them for continuity, when you're checking them move the wires back and forth to see if the resistance increases.

its the probes gone bad! I have had the same problem with mine. I just ordered new probes and keep an extra on hand. no big deal! things wear out!

I had the same trouble on the meat probe it turned out the problem was a loose connection on the plug that plugs into the controller the plug has a screw cap unscrew it and check on mine I had to resodder the wire to the terminal2 Large Eggs and a Mini 2 Pit Bulls and a Pork shoulder or butt nearby and 100% SICILIANLong Island N.Y.
