Pellets or Dust? And which species and/or brand.

My lovely wife got me an a-maze-n smoker for Christmas. Unfortunately, the particular one she got didn't come with any samples. Not her fault - she didn't know I would need anything additional with it. So, questions arise for those more experienced than me.
1. Pellets or sawdust?
2. What species of wood would be best for general purpose?
3. What species is best for cold smoking Bacon? This will be my primary purpose for the smoker.
4. Any brand better than another?
5. Who is best to buy from?
6. Unrelated but who is best to buy pink salt from?
Thanks so much for your help and knowledge.
I cook. I eat. I repeat. Thornville, Ohio

Pellets for sure. I use Hickory for Pork. Apple/Cherry for Poultry. Mesquite for Beef. Experiment to see what you enjoy.

If you have the model that does pellets or dust. You can just by pellets and grind them in a coffee grinder when you want dust. Here's a good source for pink salt.Felton, Ca. 2-LBGE, 1-Small, PBC, PK360, Genesis Summit, Camp Chef Flattop, Smokefire 24, Traeger Pro Series 22 Pellet with a Smoke Daddy insert, Gateway 55 Gal. drum, SNS Kettle w/acc.
