Lump for fire

Options
Anyone use lump to get a fire going for a burn pit?
XL bge, Mini max & 36 BS Griddle.

    I would use cheap briquettes before I would waste my good lump but it would work.

    Thought that was what kerosene was for.
    Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

    I do.....and in my wood stove insert.  It really accelerates the fire.  Normally is takes an hour or two for the fan to kick on, but if I start with a few pounds of charcoal, it will kick on in 30 minutes.

    At home, I save all the fines and dust from the bottom of the bags in a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket with a lid, then use a couple cups to help get the fire going.  Same goes for all the shreaded paper......good kindling.
